Senior Program

*We are not accepting new applications for our senior program at this time. *

Our Senior Transitional Housing Program serves low-income or homeless seniors and disabled adults looking to move toward improved health and quality of life, connection to resources, and long-term housing stability.

We provide transitional housing and supportive case management to help seniors connect with healthcare resources, qualify for benefits, and pursue permanent housing options that will meet their needs in the future. Ithaka has a 14-unit apartment building and a 3-unit home in Colorado Springs that provide transitional housing for low-income seniors. Residents pay 30% of their income in rent and we serve approximately 17 people at a time.

Our Senior Program provides housing to people who:

  • Are an older resident of our community aged 55 and up who doesn’t have the ability to earn substantive income from employment (those who are literally homeless are given priority)
  • Already have income (Social Security, SSI, OAP)
  • Would benefit from transitional housing (TH) as preparation for permanent housing of their choice
  • Would, with the help of supportive services, be successful in finding and obtaining affordable long-term housing in the community
  • Is not experiencing adverse legal, financial, or health consequences as a result of the use of legal substances
  • Has the capacity to successfully complete all phases of the program
  • Is willing to engage in twice monthly case management visits
  • Optional:  If there is a VI-SPDAT score (you will know if you have one), we are best equipped to serve those in the middle range
